BEVERLEY Turner reignited her row with Piers Morgan and said clapping for Captain Tom was “doing the Prime Minister’s bidding”.
The presenter, 47, faced a backlash last week after refusing to join the nation in clapping outside for late hero Captain Tom Moore.
Bev’s tweet ended up on the radar of Piers Morgan – and the two ended up in a bitter row.
Speaking about the row on This Morning, Beverley told Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “I have defended Sir Tom’s right to go on holiday at Christmas when a lot of people were laying into him, that it was irresponsible.
“He was 100 years old of course he deserved one last holiday for him and his family. I don’t have a bad word to say about this remarkable gentleman and the people who love him.
“That is a very different issue than being stood on our doorsteps doing the bidding of, quite frankly, a certain breakfast TV presenter and the Prime Minister.”
Piers Morgan defended clapping for Captain Tom
She explained he was a “remarkable man”, but explained further why she didn’t clap: “I think large displays of orchestrated emotion do maintain this sense of fear .
“And there are a lot of people cowering at home – genuinely healthy people – there is 0.1% case fatality rate for the under 40s. And we need to address that.
“My concern is that when very powerful people on television take it upon themselves to pass judgement on others if they don’t do something they deem to be right. That needs speaking out for.
“Particularly interesting those in the military who came out and said, we fought, Captain Tom fought, as soldiers to live in a free country and what we’re seeing now is not a free country.

“And we are sick of the judgment, we are sick of the curtain twitchers, we are sick of people wanting to dob in their neighbours if they don’t do the right thing.”
She wrote: “Sir Tom Moore and his family did a brilliant job of raising £ for the nhs. It’s great that he lived to 100! It’s awesome that he got one last fab holiday.
“But I’m not clapping in the St to maintain the fear that imminent death is all around & we’re all in this together. We’re not.”
