Lionel Richie has three children from two marriages.

In 1975, Richie married his college sweetheart Brenda Harvey.

Eight year later, the couple adopted their daughter Nicole Camille Escovedo, now Nicole Richie.

When Nicole was three-years-old her biological parents agreed to let her move in with Richie, because they could not afford to provide for her.

Initially, Richie became her guardian, however he and his wife Harvey legally adopted Nicole when she was nine-years-old.

Nicole and her husband Joel Madden have two sons together.

In 1986, while still married to Harvey, Richie began a relationship with Diane Alexander.

Richie and Harvey divorced in August 1993, after nearly 18 years of marriage, and married Alexander in December 1995.

Richie has two children with Alexander, his son Miles Brockman – who was born in May 1994 – and his daughter Sofia Richie, born in August 1998.

Richie and Alexander’s marriage ended in 2004.

Was Lionel Richie’s son arrested in 2019?

Richie’s son, Miles Brockman Richie, was arrested in January 2019, after allegedly making a bomb threat at Heathrow airport in the United Kingdom.

According to TMZ, witnesses said Miles was angry after not being allowed on a flight and claimed that he had a bomb in his bag that he would detonate if he was not allowed to board.

After security showed up, he allegedly got into an altercation, punching one of the guards before police arrived and detained him.

Miles is a fashion model, who made his runway debut at New York Fashion Week in February 2018.
